Education/ Koranui Kohanga Reo, Stokes Valley

BKB Team Architects worked with the Koranui Marae and the Ministry of Education to develop a new building to house their thriving Kohanga Reo programme.

The result is a simple building that sits comfortably in it’s residential environs.

The interior has been designed to provide large, open spaces filled with light and air that are flexible enough to accommodate a changing programme of teaching.

Away from the street the building opens out to the playgrounds beyond with a variety of activity spaces including a raised performance deck, covered sandpit and water play area and garden troughs.
