High quality, high-density townhouses are not yet common in the Hamilton context, but as demand for lakeside views and inner city living increases, such housing is needed urgently.

The townhouses at Lake Ridge successfully take this demand on, creating a unique design solution to enhance every aspect of the position.

The site faces south over the Hamilton Lake, with prevailing winds from this direction. This created the difficulty of maximizing views, while gaining optimal sunlight and privacy, and avoiding wind.

Originality of design thinking has superseded each of these issues. Internal spaces are open and spacious, with louvers and glazed spaces maximising daylight on both levels. Use of glazing acts as a control and maximization of stunning lake views. Efficient and creative spatial planning allows three bedroom, two living, two bathrooms and a study in 250 square metres.

A semi-enclosed central courtyard provides private outdoor living, with glazing and continuation of materials giving a transparency from back to front. The cohesion of low maintenance, efficient planning and high quality establishes these homes as leaders in the high-density market.
