We were initially engaged in 1997 to conduct public consultation and prepare briefs and concept designs for four new facilities: reception / sports centre, leisure pool, museum, public toilets.
We were later commissioned to provide full service for a combined events centre and pool complex incorporating public toilets.
The pool consists of a new 8 lane x 25m multi purpose pool, with beach, learners’ / hydrotherapy pool, childrens’ pool, hydroslide and tiered seating for 280 people.
The Events Centre is a multipurpose 2 court venue containing 900 retractable seat bleachers and sprung sports floor.
Amenities include wet and dry change rooms, office space and reception, café and 200m² mezzanine floor with viewing to pool and events centre.
The reception / sports area is 23000m² and the leisure pool is 2600m².
