In response to a traditional family home brief, this design solution evolved primarily from the need to capture the view to the sea whilst achieving a degree of privacy and separation from the same direction. This challenge led to the raising of the ground floor level to approximately 1.2m above existing ground level and then lifting adjacent lawn and garden levels to meet a large timber deck, providing the main living spaces with an expansive connection to the north and outdoor living areas coupled with an elevation above street vehicle and pedestrian level.
