Education/ Te Kura Specialist Classroom, Porirua

The addition of a specialist science classroom block at Te Kura Maori O Porirua has been an opportunity to create more with the small budget than one additional classroom space.

The new stand alone building has been located at the northern end of existing classroom blocks forming a courtyard.

The simple canopy roof has now turned this area into an effective outdoor teaching space.

Careful colour selection, good use of natural daylight and simple forms has created a bright lively environment.
