The Taranaki Team Architects branch had reasons to celebrate on Friday with wins in three different categories at the 2017 Western Architecture awards held in Palmerston North. Boon Goldsmith Bhaskar Brebner's office fit out for IVHQ as a volunteer coordination and logistics hub pocketed them an award in the 'Interior Architecture' category as well as a Resene Colour Award. Another Resene Colour Award winner and winner in the 'Small Projects' category was the practice's Stratford District Council Library Redevelopment with a vibrant design that created greater engagement between the library spaces and the public sphere. The third win for the practice featured in the 'Housing Alterations and Additions' category for their Barbour House project that took a 70's coastal home into the contemporary times whilst maintaining the integrity of the original home. These projects now have the opportunity to be shortlisted for the New Zealand Architecture Awards which take place at the end of the year, watch this space!
