With 25 years’ industry experience, Nick has an extensive portfolio of quality projects. A residential specialist, he has worked on multiple apartment projects, house alterations, new homes and multi-unit medium density housing developments (for both private and government entities).

Nick enjoys working on community-based projects such as Housing NZ developments and new apartments for Ronald McDonald House where he can use his skills to indirectly help those in need.

His other areas of interest and expertise include education projects, from early childcare through to tertiary, and heritage refurbishments. He has even relocated and painstakingly restored his own double-storey 1857 house just south of Auckland.

Skilled at collaborating and developing team ideas and practical outcomes, Nick has been involved in a number of significant resort and hospitality projects, including The Rees, a high-end hotel and serviced apartments development in Queenstown, and the acclaimed Kauri Cliffs golf club lodge and cottages in Kerikeri.

Nick appreciates the rustic simplicity of the Matakana Farm Buildings near Dunedin and says David Mitchell’s book The Elegant Shed about New Zealand architecture and local vernacular architecture, has influenced his design perspective.

Beyond the office, Nick likes getting outdoors and enjoys hunting, shooting, fishing, running, boating, swimming, bush walks and camping. He’s also researching and planning environmental improvements to his family farm in the form of waterways and fish ladders, tree planting and swampland preservation.
