With 45 years’ industry experience, Tim has a wealth of design and construction expertise. He has worked as project architect and/or partner in charge for projects of varying sizes and demands, ranging from minor alterations to multi-million dollar redevelopments.

Tim has special expertise in the areas of education, theatres and performing arts facilities, heritage projects and housing. He also has significant experience in residential, hospitality, retail and commercial fit-outs, as well as project management.

After gaining his New Zealand registration in the mid 1970s, Tim travelled to Britain and Europe to expand his horizons and work. In 1980 he returned to Napier and joined a practice that would become Judd Dougan Team Architects. He has been its principal and director since that time.

In 1995, Tim was a key player in the establishment of the Team Architects group of practices. He now works as a consultant to Team Architect’s Napier studio, lending his considerable experience and expertise to projects as required.

Among Tim’s more high-profile projects are the Napier Municipal Theatre Redevelopment and Extensions, the Regent on Broadway Redevelopment and Extensions in Palmerston North, and the Central Hawke’s Bay College Technology and Science Blocks.
