The library is dug into the toe of a steep fern clad hill at the back of the school. This site, suggested by Team Architects, whilst difficult, is the best location for the new library, forming a link between the two blocks of existing classrooms and providing an end to the courtyard.
The front is conservative as blending in with the existing buildings was very important to the board of trustees. Inside the ceiling rises up and over high windows providing natural light and ventilation and a green back drop of native ferns. A block wall runs the length of the building against the hill extending out into courtyards at each end.
