Opened in February 2010 this state of the art dental simulation suite, was designed for the University of Otago School of Dentistry. The lab features 73 mannequins complete with soft latex faces and removable jaws for the purpose of training the next generation of dentists. The new lab is fully computerised and allows students to follow teaching demonstrations on screen as they occur. Associate Dean for Facilities and Clinical Services Dr Warwick Duncan says the $2.5 million lab is just one initiative the School is undertaking to modernise its facilities.
