Digital Technologies

BIM (Building Information Modelling) is an intelligent 3D model-based process that gives architecture, engineering and construction (AEC) professionals the insight and tools to more efficiently plan, design, construct, and manage buildings and infrastructure. We use BIM across a wide range of project types. “Simply put, there are no original architectural challenges in the 21st century that are simple enough for a single person to resolve on his or her own.” (Barbara Bryson, Future of Architects, June 2017) We recognised this some time ago and were one of the first AEC companies in NZ to move to BIM technology.

BIM enhances transparency and collaboration throughout project design and delivery processes and beyond into post-occupancy building management. From early concept visualisation and sun shadow modeling, to effective specialist structural and building services design coordination, BIM technology creates a shared project resource to optimise efficiency, reduce risk and enhance certainty of project quality and cost.

VR (Virtual Reality) is a technology that uses headsets to generate realistic images that simulate a user's physical presence in a virtual or imaginary environment.

Team Architects use this technology in conjunction with our BIM and environment control software to provide a virtual built environment for the design phases of a project. This is an incredibly powerful tool, for our design team and forclients who would like to experience their projects at a sensory level before physical change takes place on the worksite.

VR is a tool that allows us to explore, refine, and explore again with full spatial understanding in a remarkably compressed timeframe.

If you want to know more about how BIM and VR can benefit your project, let us give you a demonstration of the technology in action.
