TEAM Architects National Scholarship Awards 2026

This long-standing programme was established to support and encourage emerging architectural talent in Aotearoa New Zealand. The awards give students the opportunity to refine their ideas, grow as designers, and thrive in the profession they are passionate about.

The TEAM Architects Scholarships are open to students entering their final year of the Master of Architecture (Professional) programme in 2026. Applications are welcome from current fourth-year students enrolled at the five accredited Schools of Architecture: The University of Auckland, UNITEC, Victoria University of Wellington, Auckland University of Technology, and Otago Polytechnic.

Submissions are made by students to their architecture school, which will then select nominees for the national awards. From there, TEAM Architects’ nine offices around the country review the final entries, and results are calculated to determine the recipients.

For 2026, we will be offering:

• Supreme Award - $3,000
• Distinction Awards x 4 - $1,000 each

Entries close Friday, 03 October 2025.

Scholarship Details:  

To be considered for the TEAM Architects Scholarship awards, applicants must be currently in their first year of the Master of Architecture (Prof) programme in an Aotearoa New Zealand School of Architecture: The University of Auckland, UNITEC, Victoria University of Wellington, Auckland University of Technology, or Otago Polytechnic. A point of contact at each University will be in touch with the eligible students directly.

Applicants are required to submit the main final project in the design course from the first semester of their first year of Masters (It is not necessary to specially prepare a portfolio).

There are two levels of award: 

Team Architects Scholarship Supreme Award

One Scholarship Supreme Award of $3000 will be awarded.

The successful candidate is to use the Scholarship for study in the following calendar year for completion of their degree.

Team Architects Scholarship Distinction Awards

Four Scholarship Distinction Awards of $1000 may be awarded to students from each of the other four Schools of Architecture.

Successful candidates are to use the Scholarships for study in the following calendar year for completion of their degree.
