We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Jane Kelly has been appointed Chair of TEAM Architects New Zealand.

We are delighted to announce the appointment of Jane Kelly as Chair of TEAM Architects New Zealand.

Jane is currently the Principal of TEAM Architects and Director of TEAM Architects Wellington. She joined TEAM Architects over 25 years ago and, since then, has led a diverse range of projects across aged care, hospitality, heritage, and remediation.

One of her most significant projects is as Lead Architect and Project Manager for the restoration of Sacred Heart Cathedral in Wellington City, which is expected to reopen in 2024.

“This $13 million project has involved significant earthquake strengthening,” Jane explains. “We’ve now moved into restoring the exterior fabric, refurbishing the interior spaces, and bringing the building up to a good standard for today’s use.”

Jane is a true champion of women; throughout her career, she has worked to mentor and encourage women at TEAM Architects and in the architecture industry. Recently, she's helped drive TEAM Architects to be an early signatory to the Diversity Agenda Accord and has been instrumental in the organisation’s Diversity and Inclusion Programme.

“This programme has been running for 14 months with noticeable improvements”, says Jane. “It aims to bring people together, promote professional development, and address issues of inequality in gender, culture and neurodiversity.”

As Chair, Jane would like to see an increase in the influence of women across the organisation. She also hopes to build on the momentum from the recent Te Paumaomao Nation Building seminars by fostering a transformative approach in architecture practice across the wider organisation.

We hope you can join us in congratulating Jane on her new appointment.
