It is always a proud moment and a privilege to be involved in a project that is considered New Zealand’s national treasure. The 1914 Church designed by Fredrick de Jersey Clere is one of those treasures.

The 1914 Church designed by Fredrick de Jersey Clere is one of those treasures. The project involved connecting a new extension to the Catgory-1 building. Close consultation with Heritage New Zealand (HNZ) and numerous user groups was undertaken as part of the process. The resultant design is a carefully considered juxtaposition of new against the old, demonstrating a transition acknowledging yet connecting both past and present.
The project included structural strengthening and refit of an existing annex building, new community centre for 200+ patrons, communal spaces, administrative offices, commercial kitchen to cater for 400+ patrons and outdoor wellness spaces.
